Ann Hendrix was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. After obtaining her bachelors with honors from Temple University, she worked for in Human Resources for a number of years for a Fortune 500 company. During her career in Human Resources, Ms. Hendrix obtained a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where she graduated first in her class and was awarded the Melvin Lurie Award for outstanding academic performance, which is only given to one student each year.
After leaving her in career in Human Resources, Ms. Hendrix graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Southwestern Law School SCALE Program in Los Angeles, CA, an intense two year law school program where she graduated first in her class.
She has worked for The Myers Law Group since its early days, as the first full time associate of the firm, and is proud to represent employees in civil litigation for violations of wage and hour laws, the Fair Employment and Housing Act (i.e. sexual harassment, discrimination, disability discrimination, etc.), class actions, and wrongful termination.
As the Chair of Civil Litigation, Ms. Hendrix is involved in nearly all of the firm’s cases from case selection through trial. Ms. Hendrix argued and won at the Court of Appeal, 5th District, in Oseghale v. State of California (Super. Ct. No. S-1500-CV-277956). The Court found that proximity alone between an protected act of opposition to an adverse employment action is enough for an employee to establish a retaliation claim under the Fair Employment & Housing Act. Ms. Hendrix routinely provides to Mr. Myers and other handling attorneys her thoughts and insights as to each case.
